I was so excited to wake upt his morning and find that Little Snugglies by Val is now a member of the EtsyKids Team! The EtsyKids team is a diverse group of talented and dedicated Etsy shop owners making items for babies, toddlers, and children. All items are focused on kids and they are all handmade. All items sellers can be found on Etsy and it is a great way to narrow your Etsy search when looking for great kids items! Right now the EtsyKids website is featuring a shopping guide that is excellent for back to school and gift ideas. The EtsyKids blog is also a great source of information.

So sad to see the news headlines from Aura, Colorado this morning. Prayers to the families of the victims and to all of those that were injured and there to witness such a tragedy. What is the world coming to?

It has been a very LONG time!

Hello everyone! How have you been? I can't believe I haven't updated since November! Wow! It has been a very busy Winter and Spring for the Little Snugglies by Val Family. My hubby returned from his deployment in February and we didn't have long until it was time to PCS from Arizona to Illinois. The move was crazy, getting our Arizona house rented was stressful, and we received some happy news! We are expecting baby # 4 due January 4, 2013! We moved into our new house on Scott Air Force Base in June and have been getting settled ever since. Getting my studio back up and running has been a challenge. Trying to find a good area in the house and keep up with order, model ideas, book keeping, you name it! August will be a busy month for us as well as hubby starts his TDY rotations, and my oldest two kiddos start 1st grade and preschool. My two year old will be my sidekick :). We also should find out the gender of our baby on August 2nd! :)

So, that is the reason for such a long hiatus. I have some good ideas to revamp the blog. I'll start with regular posts tomorrow. I'm going to be focusing on back to school items. The Etsy shop has lots of new items. A back to school sale will Start August 1, 2012 allowing all shoppers to receive 10% off of your orders through August. Several of the models that I use are featured in this publication, and I highly recommend it to keep up with the latest in kids boutique apparel and modeling! Happy Veteran's Day!

LSBV Blog is back! I've been working on some design changes. Hope you like what you see!

So what is to come? New Features, new items, new favorites and so much more!

Since I have been in last I have started working with Little Diamond Models. This is a great modeling service that connects boutique owners with models of all ages. I have worked with some amazing kids and adults. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking to show off your creations.

I have been doing lots of work in the LSBV Store. New Items include hat designs, diaper covers, arm and leg warmers, and photography prop sets for all of my photog friends out there. Please check out whats new! I am offering 11% off to my shoppers today through Sunday in honor of the Veteran's day holiday as well. Great time to shop for those holiday presents. Do you have any Colt's fans in your life?  I have a version of this for girls and boys (Adults too). Maybe it will spare a winning streak in this sad season!

We are smack dab in the middle of a deployment in my house as well so I have been trying to get in a routine playing single mommy for the time being. This has proven difficult. Props to all the single parents out there! It has also gotten rather chilly in Arizona making it really feel like the holidays are near.

I'm so excited about all the good thinks happening within the Etsy store lately! We have had our first international order to Italy! Lots of sales, lots of new friends, and just lots of good stuff!

Favorite Cameras

I recently went out in search of a new camera. I have been taking pictures of my items on my iphone lately since my point and shoot nikon quit working and for the ease of uploading directly to the web. I knew the quality wasn't fabulous. After speaking to a few photog friends, I decided to purchase a Cannon Rebel Ti3. I am so in LOVE with this camera! Best business purchase I've made in awhile. I've been practicing with lighting and expsorue and snapped some great pictures of my new Owlie hat.

These are two of the pictures I snapped last night. I have had so many more hits to my Etsy website since posting these!

In another attempt to increase foot traffic I have began to work with a modeling agency to get some different shots of my hats on kids other than my own. I am excited to take pictures of my kids outdoors with the new camera in my creations as well.

What's New Wednesday and Missing in Action

So sorry that I have been MIA lately. Life takes over and then yea. I've been super busy creating new items the past few weeks. First off is the new slouchy newsboy:

So as you can see, very busy bee. I've also joined forces with Little Diamond Models to hopefully get some of my hats on little boys for listing purposes, and so that others can get an idea of what the hats will look like on their little men.

Monday Military Feature!

Today's shop feature is all about items made to support our military! Kelly Tode, owner of Beauty.Mark Military Boutique, started her business in January 2011. She needed a hobby, and her hobby turned into her passion! She decided that others may be interested in her unique items. Items range from Military Jewelry (Name Tape Bracelets, Charm Necklaces & Bracelets) to Military Headbands & Hair Clips!  I love these items, most are made from uniform of your selected branch and their are serveral ways to personalize the pieces to make them even more special.

One of my favorite Items currently featured in the Beauty.Mark Military Boutique on Facebook is the Name Tape Bracelet. This is a bracelet made from a material in the pattern of your service members uniform, and can be customized with different colored ribbons and a name tape with your selected name. I think this is a great piece, and really neat if you have a love one that is deployed.

Sensational Shop Feature Saturday

Hope you all have had a great Saturday! Today's feature is all about Darling Discoveries! Darling Discoveries is a fantastic Etsy shop full of great items for babies and kids!
